USAIG is a global leader in aviation and aerospace insurance.

While the names are similar, the United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) and United States Aviation Underwriters, Inc. (USAU) are actually two separate and distinct organizations. Their working relationship is such, however, that the two names are often used interchangeably.

USAIG is a pool comprised of highly-rated U.S. property/casualty insurance and reinsurance companies that issue aviation insurance policies. The USAIG members have A.M. Best ratings ranging from A to A++.

The actual underwriting of these accounts is done by USAU, which manages USAIG and is responsible for selecting business, specifying rates, binding coverages, issuing policies, arranging reinsurance, collecting premiums and settling claims on USAIG's behalf.

In addition to its headquarters in New York City's financial district, the managers maintain a nationwide network of underwriting and field claims offices. Each office is responsible for serving the needs of policyholders and insurance producers within its territory.

Aviation insurance for individuals and companies domiciled in Canada is provided by the Canadian Aircraft Insurance Group (CAIG). The CAIG was founded in 1937 and is managed by Canadian Aviation Insurance Managers, Ltd. (CAIM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of USAU.

CAIM maintains an office in Toronto to serve policyholders and insurance agents and brokers throughout the provinces and territories.
